Ceramic is Bonggal’s chosen medium to record anything that he deem necessary to be emphasized until it doesn’t – for better or worse – as this material has
the eternal and ephemeral duality to be its basic physical nature. This series is named as Kaca Rias (vanity mirror) because the artist notices that people tend to mind the socio-psychological make up so much and yet choose to perform anything they could do to attain certain goals even through the most brutal way possible. In life, and also in the art world, power is the main substance to the extent where anything below that is pliable and expendable.
